Kalyan city has been seen in the history of the Maurya period. The name of Kalyan City has not been changed in recent history. Swarajya Aramar was started by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Kalyan port in the year 1657. While Kalyan's Muslim Subhedar daughter-in-law was found in the hands of Shivaji Maharaj's army, Shivaji Maharaj had repatriated her with dignity. Dombivali is mentioned in the inscription of King Harpal Dev in the year 1075. This inscription is in the village of Mahul near Turbhe port.
